The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame will be opening a branch of the famous museum in New York City in November according to the Associated Press.

Announced on Wednesday (August 13) by Mayor Michael Bloomberg and joined by music legend Bill Joel and Clive Davis, the branch will be located in the SoHo area.

“There really isn’t a more fitting spot for this museum than New York, the hometown of hall of famers like the Velvet Underground, Paul Simon and Blondie … this is where Ed Sullivan met the Beatles, where Lou Reed took a walk on the wild side,” Bloomberg stated.

The annex will be the new home of Bruce Springsteen’s 1957 Chevy, memorabilia donated by Billy Joel and other important exhibits from the main location of the museum in Cleveland, Ohio.

The expansion to New York is the first of many around the globe. Las Vegas will receive its own annex as well as an unnamed city in the Middle East.
