Bob Dylan awarded Special Citation Pulitzer Prize

The 2008 Pulitzer Prize winners were announced today.

The biggest surprise of all of the announcements:

A special citation to Bob Dylan for his profound impact on popular music and American Culture, marked by lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power.

Dylan joins a distinguished group of Special Citation winners including John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk & Duke Ellington.  Full list of past Special Citation winners from 1930-2008 can be found here

Congrats Bob, well deserved and a long time coming.
