See the Music Volume VIII-Recycled Anticipation
Posted by T Rex on March 24, 2008
It’s been a long time, my friends. I’m overdue. Not just with Runaway Dinosaur, but with Seeing the Music, in general. The last show I had the chance to see was Babyshambles at Munich’s Tonhalle and, considering I only stayed for 2 1/2 songs, it was hardly fulfilling. Even though I’m willing to put in that extra effort and hop a plane now and again for a show, and even with the best intentions, sometimes there’s just no music to see. In times like these, you have to make the best of it.
For me that means making some music of my own (I’m learning to play the ukulele), overdosing on Austria’s goTV (an almost cool, but not really, version of VH1) and a lot of exploring of my iTunes library. All of these diversions keep the soundtrack to my life colorful but, unfortunately, doesn’t make for interesting photography, with the exception of the ukulele, of course.
Pollstar, Pitchfork, MySpace, Lastfm, Spin, iConcertCal and a subscription to just about every band I would ever like to see keeps me abreast of opportunities and I can tell you that just because I’ve been off the radar recently doesn’t mean I will stay there. There is quite a lot of music to look forward to from Spring through Summer and I am already working on finding ways to be there to shoot it.
Today I will give you a sneak peek of a couple of the bands that I have shot before that I will get to shoot again in the not-so-far future…I’m sure you know, but can you guess whose on tap from the photos below?
Sorry to recycle some past work for you today but we have to do the best we can. Stay tuned for some fresh, fresh, fresh photos and some new adventures later this month with a quick trip back to the Big Apple in the books and some exciting Europe dates coming shortly thereafter.
Happy Spring and don’t forget to See the Music
