Van Halen tour – Game (back) On (for now)…
Posted by jhochstat on March 22, 2008
Reported earlier this week that Van Halen has rescheduled tour dates postponed this month when guitarist Eddie Van Halen was undergoing tests for an unspecified medical condition. The band will proceed on April 19 in Las Vegas and play 20 shows in all, with the last date set for June 2 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Tickets for the band’s previously scheduled dates will be honored. Van Halen returned to the road in fall 2007 with original lead singer David Lee Roth for the first time in 20-plus years. The tour, which features Eddie Van Halen’s teenage son, Wolfgang, on bass, has routinely sold out North American arenas.
Madison Square Garden’s Website had the following statement regarding the VH show that was to take place on St Patrick’s Day:
Please be advised the Van Halen concert originally scheduled to play Madison Square Garden on Monday, March 17, 2008 has been rescheduled to Friday, May 23, 2008. All tickets for the March 17th performance will be honored for the May 23rd performance. Patrons should retain their tickets as they will be honored at the rescheduled concert. Ticket refunds can be issued at the original point of purchase.
You can find the rest of the rescheduled dates from the Van Halen tour here.
I just hope that Diamond Dave doesn’t resort back to getting busted in Washington Sq Park for buying nickel bags and the show has to be canceled again.
Eddie, please stay healthy & on-stage because I would like nothing better than to witness the legend that is Eddie Van Halen shredding it like in the old days.
Eddie Van Halen – Eruption Guitar Solo
Very funny jroxx Van Halen story: In 1997 I was working at Walt Disney World managing a restaurant in Epcot when I saw on my reservations for lunch one day VIP Van Halen 10ppl. They were playing at the Orlando Arena that evening so I was really psyched to get to meet Eddie, Alex and Michael (Sorry Sammy, no love). The reservation time comes and I find out that it was only the wives and kids. All I remember is Valerie Bertinelli repeatedly telling Wolfie (Wolfgang) to sit down and behave all throughout the meal.
