Transmissions

Gotta love a new revenue stream. Being a big fan of live music this is a great opportunity for both fans and artists.
Today, Myspace launched “Transmissions” which offers artists the chance to record a live studio performance along with a Q&A session which will then be sold by the company. Myspace estimates there are more than 6 million major label, independent label and unsigned artists with MySpace profiles. With the costs of studio time and CD sales continuing to plummet I’m sure there will be a lot of interest in Transmissions.
“Transmissions takes our existing music programming to the next level by creating a unique way to expose users to exclusive content while empowering artists and labels with a new way to generate revenue on MySpace,” said Josh Brooks, VP of Programming and Content for MySpace.
