Rock Art Wednesday-Jermaine Rogers

Posted by T Rex on December 5, 2007

Being a fan of Ween has not only provided me with many incredible concerts over the years but also opened my eyes to a slew of great artists who have all designed posters for the band. For this week’s Rock Art Wednesday I’m featuring one of those artists who has created nearly 800 posters for bands like Radiohead, David Bowie, Deftones, Tool, the Chemical Brothers, Morrissey, QOTSA, The Cure, Foo Fighters, Sonic Youth, the list goes on and on…..Jermaine Rogers.

His distinct, elaborate, comic book influenced illustrations are more beautiful pieces of modern art than rock posters. These posters are true gifts for both the bands he designs for and also the fans that come out to see the shows. His great use of color and style of drawing has made his posters highly sought after. I know this first hand as I have tried to get my hands on the one below that he did for Ween’s recent SF Warfield show.

Jermaine has extended his skills into toy figurines and also has a clothing line of his designs called Stagr. To see his art work click here. For now, enjoy a few of my favorites from his portfolio.
